Jane Cooney
President

Jane founded Books for Business in 1991 based on 25 years of experience as a corporate librarian and business information specialist. In addition to her overall management responsibilities and knowledge of business literature Jane consults extensively in corporate and office library collections, services and marketing. Jane has a BA degree from Marianopolis College (Université de Montréal) and a BLS and MLS from the University of Toronto.

 
Carrie Isman
Store Manager
Carrie joined Books for Business in 2001 with senior management experience at two Canadian chain bookstores. Educated at Ryerson and Seneca College in journalism, business management and computer technology, Carrie is our chief buyer and event co-coordinator, supporting our busy schedule of corporate meetings, professional conferences and other special events.
 
Joshua Majonis

Joshua came to Books for Business after several years of book and gift purchasing at a national chain store. He holds a BA degree in Psychology and is currently studying at York University towards a degree in computer science.

 
Brenda Bickram
Brenda is a former co-owner of a children’s toy and book store and is a graduate of Ryerson University’s Library Technician’s program. She applied her research skills at George Brown College in Toronto before getting into the retail and wholesale book business.
 
Sarah Plummer

Sarah is a graduate of the University of Guelph, were she received a degree in English Literature. She is currently pursuing a publishing certificate, studying part-time at Ryerson University while working full-time at Books for Business. She spent a few years traveling and looks forward to future adventures. Sarah has been with us since October 2006.

 
Pat Kennedy

Pat works part-time at Books for Business while running her own freelance editing business. With degrees in English, Teaching, and Librarianship, all from the University of Toronto, she has spent over thirty years in the Canadian publishing industry. Pat has been with us since 2005.

 


Linda Paris
Valentyna Yandulska
Accounts Department

Linda and Valentyna look after the accounting functions at our company. Valentyna is a newcomer to Canada from the Ukraine where she earned a degree in economics from the Kyiv Institute of Economics and worked in several accounting firms. Linda hails from London and is a graduate of Southlands College in Wimbledon and has a bookkeeping certificate from Sheridan College in Toronto. She has been working with us since 1999 .
